LACUNA
LACUNA is a Latin word meaning “cavity” or “void.” Inspired by porous structures found in skeletons, honeycombs, coral, and foraminifera, this large-scale lighting object emits a warm glow through its hollow interior. Its architectural coating gives it a weathered, rust-like presence between the natural and the artificial.
LACUNAは、ラテン語で「空洞」や「空白」を意味する言葉。
骨格、蜂の巣、珊瑚、有孔虫などに見られる多孔的な構造に着想を得た大型照明オブジェクトです。内部の空洞で光を反響させ、開口部を通して温かな明かりを放ちます。表層には建築用の塗材を用い、風化した外壁や錆を思わせる表情を与えています。自然物をモチーフとした造形でありながら、建築的な存在感も纏う、自然物と人工物のあいだにあるような照明オブジェクトです。
